Google has a tradition Search Console feature to let you limit, or slow down, how fast Google can crawl your site under the crawl rate setting. This function, as we understand, takes a day or two to begin, and does not speed up crawling, it just can slow crawling of your site. You can access the setting over here and this is what it looks like: As you can see, it states “limitation Googles maximum crawl rate” not accelerate the crawl rate.John Mueller said all it does is limit the QPS, does that mean crawling per second? I believe usually QPS indicates questions per 2nd, but we get it.It is best if you do not touch this setting, if you can prevent it. Googles aid document says “if your crawl rate is described as “computed as ideal,” the only method to lower the crawl rate is by submitting an unique demand. You can not increase the crawl rate. Otherwise, choose the choice you want and then limit the crawl rate as preferred. The new crawl rate will be legitimate for 90 days.”Forum conversation at Twitter.
